Manufacturing Efficiencies Project

PROJECT UPDATE – Sustainable Huron is pleased to announce that KUZUKA has been selected as the professional sustainability consultants for the Manufacturing Efficiencies Project.  KUZUKA is an Exeter-based consulting firm that helps organizations in both the public and private sector deal with issues of carbon management and sustainability. 

The application period is ongoing and businesses who want to participate in this free initiative that will help them identify and integrate opportunities related to efficiencies and saving money within their business are encouraged to contact Steve Boles as soon as possible. 

We are hoping to have the businesses that will participate in the pilot project selected by the end of April.

Manufacturers – this is your chance to be a part of the Manufacturing Efficiencies Project in Huron County, developed in partnership with Huron County’s Sustainable Huron Plan, the HMA and the Midwestern Green Jobs Strategy.  Companies selected to participate in this exciting initiative will receive free professional guidance on integrating cost-effective sustainable solutions, such as identifying eco and energy efficiencies. Selected companies will receive free consultation with a sustainable business expert, as well as a sustainable business toolkit equipped with the tools and tips for increasing efficiencies, reducing environmental impact and contributing to the local community, all while striving to reduce overall costs!

Companies who participate in this project will also be featured on the HMA website!

The Manufacturing Efficiencies Project is an early win project for the Huron County Sustainability Plan.  Since the program launch, the Sustainable Huron Project Team has been working closely with the Steering Committee to identify a long-term vision and goals for the project, as well as the development of pilot projects that will illustrate what sustainability looks like on the ground. The selected projects include a local food project, a native species planting project with Huron’s youth, and a sustainable business and efficiencies project targeted at manufacturers in Huron County.
